Slave Lake River Boat Daze
Riverboat Daze is an annual festival that Slave Lake and surrounding communities look forward to each summer! The name “Riverboat Daze” comes from a history of river boats that traveled the Lesser Slave River in the early 1900’s. River boats were used before the railroads were built, so they were very important to the community and area, the boats brought settlers and supplies from southern Alberta.
Today you may here some locals jokingly call Riverboat Daze, “Rubber Boot Days,”
Usual events include a parade, a midway, petting zoo, a duck derby, show and shine, fireworks and tons more fun and entertaining activities!
